Grinding machine operator
Job profile
The main task of grinding machine operators is the production of lathed and milled parts for machines, devices and installations. They work on conventional or computer controlled machine tools and must be well versed in turning and drilling processes. Moreover, NC /CNC automatic grinding machines are increasingly taking on the manual work. Grinding machine operators work according to documents, plan the production sequence and produce programs for controlled machines. Their work also includes the monitoring of the production process, the quality inspection of the workpieces, the evaluation of the work results and the implementation of measures for quality assurance. These duties are performed independently in small-scale and series production.
